Course Info
SWIM - 1.5
K See map.
Wave start 5 minutes apart. The swim begins at the West Side
of Transition (Ironman Canada start line) at the Peach and **NEW!! **
is a triangular course within the City swim buoys (not out and back) then
back to the start line. The course is marked by buoys along the way and
is patrolled by kayakers and canoeists.
BIKE - 40
K See map.
From the transition area, cyclists head west along Lakeshore drive, past
the SS Sicamous and up Lakeshore Drive to a loop just before Highway 97.
Then back along Riverside and Lakeshore & up Vancouver Hill. At the
top of the hill, cyclists will do an out & back loop using Middle
Bench & Tupper intersections, cyclists will travel out on Naramata
Road to Chute Lake Road & turn point at Painted Rock, then come directly
back to Penticton. The course is very scenic but very challenging.
RUN - 10 K
See map.
Runners get 2K of flat course along Lakeshore and Riverside on which to
regain their running legs before heading up the hill at West Bench. The
hill concludes at the top of Bartlett Drive approx. 1.2 km from the bottom
of the hill. Runners will proceed along West Bench Drive to the turn point
over and undulating course. The return leg is exactly the reverse. Again,
this is a scenic but tough run.
